RUMOURS: Chelsea launch 30m pounds Bacca Bid

Chelsea are set to make a £30 million bid for Carlos Bacca in January, according to Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo.

Hiddink is concerned over a lack of attacking options at the club, with Falcao set to return to Monaco and Loic Remy linked with a move to Aston Villa.

Colombia international Bacca, who moved to AC Milan from Sevilla in July 2015, has emerged as Hiddink's No.1 transfer target.

Bacca has scored eight goals for Milan and would offer competition for Diego Costa, who is returning to form under Hiddink.

An 11 Year old just earned the highest IQ score possible #Whizkid

Kashmea Wahi, an 11-year-old student from the UK, just earned a place among the world’s intellectual 1 percent by getting a perfect score on her IQ test. The test’s maximum score is 161 for adults and 162 for test-takers below the age of 18. To make her achievement even more impressive, her score of 162 puts her two points higher than the likes of Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein.

After stumbling upon the Mensa test while surfing on her iPad, Wahi decided to test herself as a way of proving a point to her parents, both IT management consultants at the Deutsche Bank in London. She figured an impressive score might be an effective way to stop her parents from nagging her to study.

Wahi is currently a student at West London’s Notting Hill and Ealing Junior School, where she helped her team secure third place at last year’s Oxford Maths challenge. She plays chess amongst other hobbies and has competed on the national level. She is thought to be one of the youngest test takers ever to achieve a perfect score, partly because participants have to be at least 10 and a half to take it.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has insisted he wants to spend his whole career at the Vicente Calderon amid speculation linking him with Manchester United.
Reports in Spain have tipped the versatile 21-year-old to make a €20 million (£15m) move to Old Trafford, with his buyout clause rumoured to be as low as €26m (£19.5m).
But Saul, who has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, is relishing his growing role with Atletico and has set his sights on winning La Liga.
"I've achieved a lot," he told Sportium News. "It's a very special feeling. My biggest dream is to be at the club all my life and continue to win titles.
"I'm going through a great moment and it shows on the pitch. I'm happy for the goals but mostly because the teams benefits.
"We have shown we're capable of fighting for the league and even winning it, but it's very even and any team can give you a scare.

"The work we do every day will determine how far we go and if we have the league in our sights we'll go for it until the death."

Saul was given his league debut by Diego Simeone in 2013 but sent out on loan to Rayo Vallecano before he became a permanent part of the Argentine's first-team plans.
"He gave me my debut and was very sincere when he said I had to leave on loan to get more minutes and continue to develop," he added. "Time has proved him right."

Transfer Talk: Chelsea out to beat Tottenham to Berahino

Chelsea are looking to upset London rivals Tottenham by lining up a bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, according to the Daily Express.

Spurs had several bids for Berahino rejected last summer, leading to the 22-year-old handing in a transfer request and subsequently falling out of favour at the Hawthorns.

Guus Hiddink has admitted that Chelsea will look to bolster their attack this month, with Diego Costa their only fit centre forward currently available.

The Spain international has struggled to find the net consistently so far this term and while the Blues are already looking at AC Milan's Carlos Bacca, they are also reportedly interested in acquiring Berahino.

Chelsea are also said to be close to completing the signing of Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that striker Divock Origi has undergone surgery on a knee injury.
The Belgium international has scored four goals in all competitions for the Reds this season but has not played since December 26, when he suffered a hamstring injury against Leicester City.
Klopp revealed Liverpool opted to use his recovery time to clear up another problem the 20-year-old had, with his first-team return still pencilled in for February.
"It was not really surgery, it was a clean-up of his knee," said the former Borussia Dortmund boss.
"It was a little thing to do and we thought it was a good moment to do it – not the best of course, but because of his other injury we took the time.
"Now he is back [at Melwood] and everything is okay. He is on time and hopefully we can use him in a few weeks."

Baron Davies to join D-league 4 years after end of NBA career.

Two-time NBA All-Star guard Baron Davis is expected to sign a contract with the NBA's Development League by Wednesday, his agent Todd Ramasar told Yahoo Sports.
Davis, 36, decided over the weekend that he would sign a contract to join the D-League after contemplating the move for two years. Ramasar said that Davis' wife recently gave birth to their second child, which pushed his hopes of joining the D-League until after Jan. 20. The Dallas Mavericks, who have been known to add NBA veterans to the roster of their D-League affiliate, the Texas Legends, worked out Davis in Los Angeles last Sunday, Ramasar said.
"He is looking forward to playing in the D-League and showing teams what he is capable of," Ramasar told Yahoo Sports. "He feels that the timing is right. More than anything Baron has put in the training and is confident in his body. He feels he is ready to return to the NBA."
Davis last played in the NBA during the 2011-12 season with the New York Knicks before tearing ligaments in his right knee during the playoffs. The 13-year NBA veteran averaged 16.1 points, 7.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds during his career. Davis has been working out daily with former NBA assistant and player development coach Rico Hines, his former UCLA teammate, in Los Angeles. The 6-foot-3 combo guard last played competitively in the Drew League Pro-Am in Los Angeles last summer.
"Every pro athlete wants to retire on his terms," said Ramasar, who also played with Davis at UCLA. "His current last game wasn't the way he wanted to go out. He is very excited about the D-League."
Once Davis' signs his D-League contract he will be entered into its player pool. As of Tuesday evening, the D-League waiver preference order included Austin (San Antonio Spurs), Delaware (Philadelphia 76ers), Texas (Dallas Mavericks), Fort Wayne (Indiana Pacers) and Westchester (New York Knicks), in that order. Ramasar said that Davis had no preference in D-League team. Former NBA guards John Lucas III and Russ Smith are also available to be claimed in the D-League player pool.
Davis could make as much as $25,000 playing in the D-League and as little as $13,000. He made $147 million during his NBA career. Since departing from the NBA, Davis has been involved in acting and also producing a documentary about the Drew League.

NEWCASTLE UNITED 3-3 MANCHESTER UNITED: Last-gasp Dummet salvages draw in St. James' park thriller

Paul Dummett scored a last-gasp equaliser to deny Manchester United victory against Newcastle United in a thrilling 3-3 draw at St James's Park.
In a controversial and captivating contest, Wayne Rooney's penalty and a Jesse Lingard strike had the visitors two goals ahead but Georginio Wijnaldum got one back prior to half-time.

Newcastle dominated the second period and Aleksandar Mitrovic won a penalty after tussling with Chris Smalling, converting it himself.

Rooney produced a stunning finish with 11 minutes remaining but that would not be enough for victory, with Dummett's deflected effort at the death earning Steve McClaren's side a crucial point.

The result sees Newcastle, who stay in the bottom three, end a losing run of three Premier League matches without scoring, while Louis van Gaal's fifth-placed side have now only won one of their last eight.
Rooney's ninth-minute penalty was the first major incident of the game, with Marouane Fellaini meeting a corner and heading into the hand of Chancel Mbemba, who was only a yard away but did have his arm raised.

Referee Mike Dean pointed to the spot despite Newcastle protests and Rooney stepped up to confidently send Rob Elliot the wrong way.

Rooney could have had a second midway through the half when Lingard's accurate pass sent him through on goal but he shot inches wide with his left foot.

Newcastle went straight up the other end and forced David de Gea, making his 200th appearance for the Red Devils, into a crucial save from Wijnaldum after a superb one-two with Ayoze Perez.

The hosts then wanted a penalty of their own when Daryl Janmaat charged into the box and was stopped by a clumsy Lingard challenge, but Dean was unmoved.

Van Gaal's men doubled their lead on 38 minutes when a quick counter-attack saw Ander Herrera release Rooney. The England striker took his time before reversing a clever pass into path of Lingard, who finished through the legs of Elliot from a tight angle.

That two-goal cushion lasted only four minutes. Fabricio Coloccini's high pass was headed down by Mitrovic and this time the onrushing Wijnaldum made no mistake, netting with an impressive first-time volley.

De Gea saved from Moussa Sissoko early in the second half before Lingard missed the target with an excellent opportunity at the other end after good work from Anthony Martial and Herrera, leaving Van Gaal visibly annoyed.

Jack Colback's claims for a spot-kick after a challenge by Fellaini were ignored but the home side did get a penalty when Mitrovic was wrestled to the ground by Smalling. The Serbian stepped up to beat De Gea himself.

Rooney responded by unleashing an unstoppable finish into the top-left corner when substitute Memphis Depay's shot deflected into his path 20 yards from goal.

Elliot then made a key save from Fellaini's late header, meaning Dummett's powerful strike - which deflected off Smalling out of the reach of De Gea - sealed a precious point after an epic battle.
